Water Sports at Corbyn's Cove:

Although, the beach is mostly famous for walk and swims, it does offer a wide range of water activities, for people who’d love some adventure.

Jet Ski Ride:

The most readily available water sport in every tourist destination that has a sea, Jet Ski Rides are safe, popular, and have a fair amount of thrill with them. The activity can be easily booked at the Corbyn’s cove beach when you reach there; the booking stall is kept near the left gate of the beach.

The ride is made thrilling by the waves at the Corbyn Beach, the tides are relatively high when compared to other beaches in Port Blair which lets you fly above the water and dive through it in return.

However, you will always be accompanied by a trained jet skier to keep you safe, which makes this a preferred activity for both adults and children.

Speed Boat Ride:

Just as the name suggests, Speed Boat Rides takes you on a journey to the nearby seas surrounding the beach in a fast boat. This activity can be done in groups of four, and can be a thrilling experience depending on the vendor.

At Corbyn’s Cove where the waves are lively, you will be jumping around the waves with sprays of water mixed with wind that splashes on your face and takes the tiredness away; overall, a great activity for people of every age.

Scuba Diving:  

Scuba Diving is what some people call and experience that they remember and want to do again and again. The Corbyn’s Cove beach offers a fairly decent and the easiest place to scuba dive in Port Blair.

The activity is done near the Snake Island, where there are patches of both hard and soft corals with just the right amount of marine life. You will take off on a boat from the platform located at the left side of the beach and will be taken near the small island where experienced divers will prepare and accompany you underwater for your amazing experience.

Although, not the very best place to dive, the Corbyns beach does offer a fairly decent experience, the best part about it is that a trip to the beach is included in every package and therefore a lot can be saved without expensive boat rides and additional transportation.

How to Reach

Reaching the Corbyn’s cove beach can be both easy and hard depending on how you want to reach there. It is located around 9 Kms from the Airport and it takes around 35 minutes to reach there.

There are several ways you can reach there; the easiest one would be through a cab. The beach is located at the other side of the urban area, and therefore there are no buses that will take you to the beach.

Rest assured, there are auto rickshaws and cabs you can take to reach there. If you are keen on going there by bus, you can take a bus from any bus stand to the Corbyn Chowk, and take the second right to reach the beach by foot.

It’s a 2.6 Km walk with small up and downhill roads, so it’s only recommended if you like walking or are on a tight budget.

Cellular Jail to Corbyn’s Cove Beach:

A trip to the Corbyns Cove beach is common after a visit to the Cellular Jail as the timing of light and sound show fits perfectly with the evening. The beach is located almost 7 Km from the cellular jail and can be reached only by taking a cab. There are no connecting buses that reach the beach and therefore a private vehicle or cab will always be the best option.

The ride takes you via the shore side road which presents amazing scenery. Moving forward you will be greeted by small patches of tropical jungle and then a wide open view of the sea, which makes this the best driving experience you can have in Andaman.

People who like to walk can take the stairs down from the park near the jail to reach the bus stand, where they can catch a bus to the Corbyn Chowk and can walk 2.6 Km to reach the beach. This is not usually preferred by travelers as the buses to the chowk are scarse (1 every 2.5 hours) and walk can be long from there.

• There are no direct buses to the beach.
• Entry to the beach is completely free.
• The water sports are seasonal and only open from April to September.
• The benches on the beach are paid, Rs.10/- per hour.
• Water activities closes done before 4:30 P.M.
• Pre-book a return cab before going to the beach as transportation options are less.
• Tickets for water sports are available near the floating jetty on the left side of the beach.
• It is advised not to go near the mangrove forest as crocodile has been spotted there several times.
• There are hotels and restaurants available right at the beach.
• Lifeguards are stationed at the beach only till 4:30 P.M.
• Science center is located at almost 3 Kms from the beach to the left side.
• Do not take the road to science center in the night as there are no street lights in the way.
• Do not swim in the water if the tides and current are high.

However, it is not usually recommended to book a hotel this far from the city because the distance from ferries and transportation can take time and might not be ideal because people usually come to Andaman on a tight 5-7 day tour plan.

1. Sea view road:
   The sea view road is located at the left side of the Corbyns cove beach and offers a wide view of the open sea with hurling waves where you can take your time for some evening leisure.
   Enjoy the calming walk beside the sea and let your time fly by in persistent sea wind and splashes of water.There are stone benches made by the government so you can enjoy your time. The road can be easily reached by taking a left from the beach through a small 0.7 KM roadside walk.
2. Science Center:
   As the name implies, the science center boasts interesting science projects and showcases that makes learning fun. The center is also home to some of the most widely organized museums of the seas surrounding Andaman.
   With a rather old 3D theatre and old equipment it might not be the best place to spend your evening but it does have to offer more than that, thanks to its location.
   
   The whole center is located near a cliff which offers a great view of wide open sea in front of it, cheered on by fresh breezes of wind.
   There are benches and clean cut grass to sit back, relax and take some time for yourself. The place also offers one of most magnanimous scenery to capture unique photos with your friends and family.
   
   If you like to walk, you can easily reach the science center from Corbyns Cove by foot. The distance is almost 3 Kms, via the road, surrounded by both open sea and patches of tropical jungle on sides.
